"Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."
John 14:1 (KJV)
What would you do if you lost it all?
In our last blog post, we learned to strengthen our intuition and rely on our inner wisdom by healing the third eye chakra. This blog post will discuss how the crown chakra allows us to let go of worldly possessions and better connect with God and the universe.
The crown chakra is the seventh chakra in the seven chakra system. It is at the top of our heads. The purpose of the crown chakra is to teach us to let go of the material and become more in tune with the spiritual. A blocked crown chakra can manifest as a lack of inspiration, materialism, a lack of empathy, and superiority.
As stated in the previous paragraph, the crown chakra teaches us to let go of our need for material things. As much as we like things of monetary value, those things don't last forever. An example of this is the Marvel film, Doctor Strange. In the movie, Doctor Strange had the money and status all due to his profession as a top neurosurgeon. Unfortunately, he gets into a tragic accident that injures his hands and causes him to lose the things that make him who he is. Strange has lost his material possessions and status and goes on a journey to find someone to help heal his hands to give him the ability to gain his old life back. It isn't until Strange meets The Ancient One and shows that there is "more" out there via astral plane that he begins his physical and spiritual healing. Although Strange can no longer perform surgery, he finds a new purpose in life that possibly fulfills him more.
Doctor Strange is the perfect example of how the crown chakra operates. The crown chakra focuses on bringing us to a higher state of consciousness. It is our gateway to God and the universe.
How do you heal your crown chakra? Here are some methods you can try out.
- Sit in a quiet and comfortable place and meditate for a few minutes.
- Release things that no longer serve you. In other words, clean your space.
- Practice the power of prayer.
- Say or write these crown affirmations.
- I am one with God and the universe.
- I am selfless.
- I accept all that God has to offer.
- I let go of things that no longer serve my purpose.
